Body Mesotherapy

Anti-cellulite mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is a modern therapeutic method which uses aesthetic medicine to improve the outlook of the body. Through this technique substances are injected in the upper or lower layers of the skin, which affect different cell structures. This leads to the decrease subcutaneous lipid deposits and cellulite, it helps firm the skin, reduce the appearance of cellulite and scars.

This first practice of mesotherapy, dates back to the 1952, by Doctor Michel Postor and this particular method was applied in rheumatology and traumatology.

In the last couple of years mesotherapy is performed as one of the main approaches in aesthetic medicine – rejuvenation of the skin, reducing cellulite and adipose accumulation and thickening of the hair. This innovation continues to hold its place with its complex schemes for treating trauma, chronic joint and muscle damages, etc.

What is mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a method that delivers micro-injections into the middle layer of skin with a mixture of biologically active substances which acts as a regenerative process of cells and microcirculation, activation of the skin collagen and as an end result decreasing adipose and cellulite, firming the skin and reducing the appearance of cellulite and scars.

What are the types of mesotherapy?

Different types of body mesotherapy exist. This therapy is used for these reasons:

  • Reduction of adipose deposits and locating fat accumulation;
  • Reducing cellulite;
  • Skin firming – on the inside of the arms and legs and also on the stomach area;
  • Reducing the appearance of stretch marks;
  • Reducing the appearance of scars;

For reaching each one of these effects different solutions are selected and often different ones are combined. In the products which are for cellulite, skin firming and scars, organic silicium is added, DMAE, antioxidants, hyaluronic acid and resveratrol. Usually in the therapies that treat cellulite and fat accumulation one of the main ingredients are phosphatidylcholine, coffee, etc.

Mesotherapy is used as a standalone method against aging and removing fat accumulation. It is possible to be used with other therapies – laser firming, skin rejuvenation, chemical peeling, laser therapy for stretch marks and scars and microneedling.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of mesotherapy compared to other methods?

Mesotherapy is a method of active therapy that allows substances to be injected directly in the problem area. Thus, higher concentrations of the active substances are applied only to certain spots. The procedure is suitable for every season, even for the summer months of the year.

Like any other method, this one is no different. In mesotherapy, the patient has to undergo several injections, which is accompanied by some discomfort. In the areas of the prick, it is possible for bruising to occur during a period of 5 to 15 days.

Are there side effects of mesotherapy?

The main undesirable effect of the procedure is the appearance of bruises at the sites of injection. They disappear in about a week, which depends on the strength of the blood vessels per person. It is mandatory for the patient 7 days before and after the treatment to not take aspirin and other anti-inflammatory drugs that reduce the risk of bruising.

Other side effects are redness and slight swelling in the treated area, itching, burning, feeling bruised, which disappear within a few hours to 4-5 days.

Mesotherapy for the reduction of fat deposits and cellulite leads to the momentary degradation of fat, some of which are accumulated and processed in the liver. For their removal, it is necessary to provide the body with active physical activity. It is also important to drink large amounts of water and reduce fat and carbohydrate foods.
